The Chicago Rebels is proud to carry forward a new chapter of dance at Franklin Park, the original home of so many great nights on the floor. Backed by the founding Rebel members, we’re continuing the tradition of 1st and 3rd Saturday dances at this beloved venue.
Our mission? A welcoming, inclusive space where West Coast Swing and Hustle dancers of all levels feel at home. You’ll see a blend of local favorites and, from time to time, nationally recognized instructors.

ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
This program is designed to provide a snapshot for understanding the WSDC affiliated judges program and may assist with your progress towards judge’s certification for new or established judges.
Being selected to judge is not just about watching dancers and writing down scores — it is about safeguarding the integrity of competition, supporting dancer development, and maintaining the credibility of the WSDC system. Below are the essential areas every judge must understand and embody.

Founding Member of The Chicago Rebels
One of the original driving forces behind the Chicago swing dance scene, helping to grow and sustain a thriving community of dancers and competitors. -
National Chief Judge
Served as chief judge at numerous national-level events across the United States, consistently recognized for her fairness, professionalism, and ability to lead judging panels effectively. -
Chief Judge at the US Open
Held the prestigious role of chief judge at the US Open Swing Dance Championships, one of the most respected and visible stages in the swing dance world. -
Program Developer & Educator
Designed and implemented the WSDC Certified Chief Judges Program, creating a structured pathway for judges to develop the skills, knowledge, and credibility necessary for success.
Yvonne is known not only for her technical expertise but also for her ability to communicate clearly, mentor judges at all levels, and foster a culture of integrity in competitive dance. Participants in this program will benefit directly from her decades of experience, her leadership in shaping modern judging practices, and her commitment to fairness and excellence in West Coast Swing.
